Things Don't Always Go as Planned
Hey friends,
Last Saturday, I had my first ever CCS. Our team qualified for the first time in 6 years so it was a pretty big deal.
Back when I was a freshman, I was 2 mins off from the qualifying time and wasn't on varsity. I thought to myself that I would never make it. But somehow, I kept telling my self to keep trying.
And so for the next few years, I worked hard every day to try and get on varsity and run faster than I could ever imagined.
And now, the time has come where my work finally paid off. I had a great season so far, and I was hoping to run a sub 17 for 3 miles.
Although I predicted to do that, that didn't end up happening. I didn't even run a PR in that race. however, I'm still really happy that I made it this far to CCS.
Things won't always go the way you expect. But in those times when you feel that nothing you're doing is working out, always remember how far you've come and that you can always try again.
Have a great week,
Keaton
